On May 19, 2012 the Franklin County Manito programs will hold their annual Graduation Banquet to honor our graduating seniors. This year’s special guest will be a 2000 graduate of the Manito Alternative High School, Koran Dunbar. Koran was the first recipient of the Mark McNairn Memorial Scholarship, which is offered to Manito students who are going on after graduation to attend a college or technical school. This scholarship was created by the family of Mark McNairn, a former Manito employee, who passed away in 2002. Koran has been busy since graduation. His Facebook page describes him as, “…an American actor, director, screenwriter, and comedian”. He has acted in TV, Film, Stage, and done stand-up comedy. “His recent work is Greencastle, where Dunbar is the writer, director, and lead actor”. His film Greencastle was shot on location in Greencastle and recently held a sold out, red carpet premier at the Maryland Theatre in Hagerstown Md.
