Family Therapy

Family Therapy provides therapeutic services to both court referred and privately referred clients in Franklin County. The theoretical basis of the intervention is a combination of Structural Family Therapy and Reality Therapy.

The client determines the length of intervention with privately referred clients. We believe that in these cases the client is the best judge of their functioning level. The length of treatment with court referred clients is determined by the goals set by the client, the therapist, and the referring agency.

The Family Therapist has a Masters Degree in Structural Family Therapy Counseling. He completed the extern program from Philadelphia Child Guidance and has had numerous trainings in Reality Therapy. He is a National Certified Counselor and is a Licensed Professional Counselor by the state of Pennsylvania.

Outpatient Private Practice

A variety of licensed practitioners provide individual and family psychotherapy in an outpatient setting. These services occur in Chambersburg, Gettysburg and York locations. Outpatient services are provided by licensed clinical psychologists, licensed professional counselors, and licensed social workers. Services are designed to assist consumers in adjusting to and coping with difficult situations in their lives. Manito staff recommends a therapist to consumers based on the specific needs of a client, the interests and specialties of the provider, and the status of the therapist as an approved provider for the particular client’s insurance company.

Drug and Alcohol Services

Drug and Alcohol Outpatient Counseling Services are provided to individuals who are concerned about their own drug or alcohol use or the use of drugs and alcohol by a close friend or relative. Self-referrals are encouraged. Referrals are also accepted from social service agencies, courts, schools, families, friends, and in-patient drug and alcohol programs.

Manito Drug and Alcohol Counselors specialize in providing services to behaviorally disruptive adolescents and adult offenders. Outpatient services are licensed by the PA Bureau of Drug and Alcohol Programs.

All Manito Drug and Alcohol Counselors have a minimum of a Bachelors Degree and experience working with substance abusing clients. Some Counselors have Masters Degrees. All Counselors are Certified Addictions Counselors (CAC) or actively involved in pursuing CAC certification.

Manito is now a licensed provider with the office of medical assistance. We provide drug and alcohol counseling for programs clients in Franklin and Jefferson Counties.
